About the Property
There have been some changes to this property and it is now available for rental as a whole, or on a room by room basis. The four rooms in the main house and the two studios all have access to the roof terraces, and the bedrooms in the main house have full use of the kitchen and sitting room.
The owners have put a lot of love into creating this, their perfect family home. Positioned right in the heart of the castle walls in Tarifa, they have resurrected a falling down traditional town house into a work of art. They cleverly chose a Moroccan theme and the finish is stunning; topped off with the view of Morocco from the top roof terrace!
The house is in the rabbit warren of the old town – on one of the busier streets for Tarifa nightlife; so this is for a couples or a group who want to enjoy all that Tarifa has on offer both day and night. I can think of no better way of rounding off my day on the beach than by enjoying the live music from the ‘La Teteria’ bar opposite on my very own roof terrace. The bedrooms are all situated at the rear of the house so the noise should not impact on a good night of sleep.
Access to the house is shared with the studios downstairs, so the ground floor is a communal area. The house has been designed so that the the central courtyard remains open to the elements – ideal summer time living, in winter months they do close it off. The studios are off the ground floor courtyard, where the washing and the washing area is also found. The main house is up the first flight of stairs, where one arrives at the living area a 17m long open-plan kitchen, dining and living room. Although I doubt much time gets spent indoors in July and August – the bbq on the terrace, the alfresco table and benches and the sun loungers must be where it is at!
The four bedrooms are all en suite doubles or twins. There is also a sofa bed in the sitting room which sleeps an additional two. The house can also be rented along with the studios, so for a group of up to 12 this really is your spot. The master bedroom also has its own private terrace.
The bedrooms are all situated at the rear of the house, so the noise does not impact on a good night’s sleep.
The traditional Moroccan terraces have been fully elaborated on, and the two roof terraces are a highlight, with views over the jumble of rooftops, church spires and palm trees. The terraces are all decorated with greenery as is the interior. The sandy tadelakt walls work amazingly with the green to create a calming and peaceful ambience.
Wooden doors at the bottom of the two staircases separate the studios from the house. The traditional Tarifeño slate tile gives way to natural coloured marble floors, simple and understated and very practical the marble is delicious under foot in the hotter months.
The house and Studios are not for the use of anyone from outside who is not registered as staying at Casa Luz. In the interest of security, and peace & quiet we would ask you to respect this house rule.

There are two staircases including a spiral staircase which is not suitable for small children under the age of three. Kitchen Main house (not studios) – electric range and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher.Sitting room – Stereo, Wifi, DVD, Video and TV with UK Sky.

Security Deposit of 300€
Saturday entry when possible
50% non-refundable deposit to be paid when confirming the booking. The remaining 50% should be paid in CASH on arrival.
In all cases you are responsible for keeping the property and all its contents in the same state of cleanliness, repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday. The owner reserves the right to make deductions from the security deposit for any extra cleaning, over the number of hours committed to departure cleaning.
