Terms and Conditions for your stay at a Tarifa Beach House
The initial payment required to secure a reservation depends on the individual property and is non-refundable. This payment should be made to the property owner’s account, which Tarifa Beach Houses will give to you. We expect the deposit payment to be paid within three days of receiving the relevant bank details.
In the cases where a balance payment is required prior to arrival we expect for this payment to arrive on time and this will be stipulated at the time of booking, Tarifa Beach Houses are entitled to treat your booking as cancelled if you fail to pay the balance on time.
If applied a security deposit is required to cover the cost of any damage or breakages to, or at the property. The owner or Tarifa Beach Houses reserve the right to refuse entry to the property should the security deposit not have been paid.
The owner or their representative shall be allowed access to inspect the property prior to your departure.
In the case of any damage or breakages, the security deposit will be kept whilst waiting for estimates for repaid or damage.
You are responsible for keeping the property and all its contents in the same state of cleanliness, repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday. You will be responsible for the payment of any breakages, loss or damage caused by you, your guests or members of your family. The owner reserves the right to make deductions from the security deposit for any extra cleaning, over the number of hours committed to departure cleaning, and to claim against you for damage or loss, if the cost of which exceeds the security deposit.
Arrival and Departure
Arrival is expected between 4pm and 8pm local time and is by appointment only. . It is essential to know roughly what time you expect to arrive. If you think you are going to be delayed please do your best to let us know.
Late arrival at the property incurs a supplemental fee of 10€ per hour after 8pm.
You must vacate the property by 10am on the day of departure unless other arrangements have been made directly with Tarifa Beach Houses on the Property Owner. Failure to do so will result in money being taken out of the security deposit.
Upon departure it is the guests’ responsibility to ensure that all keys are left at the property. An administration charge and replacement value of lost items will be deducted from the security deposit in this incidence.
End cleaning is included in the rate for stays of one week and longer. However, in all cases you are responsible for keeping the property and all its contents in the same state of cleanliness, repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday. The owner reserves the right to make deductions from the security deposit for any extra cleaning, over the number of hours committed to departure cleaning.
Some properties include end cleaning and some do not.
To make the most of this area we strongly advise car hire. Sports cars are not suitable for the Tarifa country tracks and we would recommend a hardier, tougher kind of cars. Vans and cars higher off the ground are a good option.
Bed Linen & Bath Towels
Bed linen and bath towels are included in the price of your stay.
Additional change of bed and bathroom linen is 10€ per person.
For guests staying longer than one week, bed and bath linen are automatically changed a week after your arrival.
Location of the Tarifa Beach Houses
Please familiarise yourself with the location of the property you would like to rent prior to your booking. A google map can be found on the Tarifa Beach House website with this information, if no map has been provided on the site it is the clients responsibility to enquire as to the properties location. A Tarifa Beach House is not necessarily on the beach.
Some properties include end cleaning, should you wish any extra domestic help these are the rates, please enquire.
Maid for freshening rooms on a daily basis 15€ per hour
Babysitters are available separately at a cost of 12€ per hour
Cook at a cost of 25€ per hour
For properties with washing machine and dryers we urge you not to use dryers in the summer, as there is plenty of sunshine.
Gardening and Maintenance
The owner or their representative has the right to access the property during your stay if urgent maintenance is required. Gardeners and maintenance staff may also enter the grounds during your stay.
You are responsible for keeping the property and all its contents in the same state of cleanliness, repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday. You will be responsible for the payment of any breakages, loss or damage to the property caused by you, your guests or members of your family. The Owner reserves the right to make deductions from the security deposit for any extra cleaning, over the number of hours committed to departure cleaning, and to claim against you for damage or loss, if the cost of which exceeds the security deposit.
The person who makes the booking is responsible for the correct and decent behaviour of all members of the party. Should this person or a member of the party not behave in such a manner, the Owner or Tarifa Beach Houses may use their absolute discretion to terminate the holiday of the person(s) concerned. In this situation, the person(s) concerned will be required to leave the accommodation. Neither Tarifa Beach House /or the Owner, will have any further responsibility toward such person(s) including any return travel arrangements. No refunds will be made and neither Tarifa Beach House /or the Owner, will pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of the termination.
The maximum number of people staying at any time must not exceed what is stated for the property on the website. All guests and their relevant information must be sent to Tarifa Beach Houses at the time of booking and should these numbers change Tarifa Beach House must be made aware to these changes immediately.
Should the numbers exceed those stated on the Guest List and Booking Form the owner and Tarifa Beach House have the right to terminate hire without prior notice and without refund or compensation.
No person who is not specifically named on the booking form shall occupy the property at any time.
Babies and Children must also be included on the Booking Form.
We are happy to arrange a party / function for you. However, if you intend to organize a function (e.g. party, wedding, cocktail party) at a Tarifa Beach House, you must seek prior permission from Tarifa Beach Houses.
Additional charges and / or an increased security deposit may be sought at our discretion.
An inventory is provided. Please inform us of any discrepancies / malfunctions within 24 hours of arrival, after which time you will be deemed to be responsible.
Where applicable as only a few of the Tarifa Beach Houses have air conditioning.
Air-conditioning will only be effective if all doors and windows are closed whilst it is running. We cannot be held responsible for non-effective air conditioning if this simple procedure is not followed. The air-conditioners are extremely effective and cool a room down in minutes. In the interests of saving energy, we strongly recommend that the air-conditioners be turned off when leaving the room.
Condition of the Facilities at the Tarifa Beach Houses
Neither Tarifa Beach Houses, or the Owner, shall be liable for any defect in or the breakdown of any mechanical, electrical or other item of equipment, goods or property, including the property itself or the swimming pool. However upon becoming aware of the defect Tarifa Beach Houses, and the Owner, shall endeavour to effect repairs to / or the replacement of any such item within a reasonable time frame. The client shall not be entitled to any compensation whatsoever in respect thereof.
We cannot be held responsible for the failure of public utilities such as water and electricity.
We cannot be held liable for any malfunctions or technical problems with Internet Service Providers.
We cannot be held responsible for noise or disturbance originating beyond the boundaries of the property or which is beyond our control.
Animals, bugs etc
Neither the owner or Tarifa Beach Houses shall in any way be liable for the occasional appearance at a Tarifa Beach House property of insects, vermin or animals, but shall endeavour to limit or eradicate the same when notified of their presence.
We do not recommend that you stay in a countryside property if you have allergies to animal hair. In the spring we have lots of wild flowers in the Tarifa countryside so hay fever sufferers or clients with pollen allergies should reconsider visiting at this time of year or stay in town.
Upon arrival at the property you and all members of your party must take time to familiarise yourselves with the location and layout of the property.
If you have rented a house with a swimming pool you will be sent an indemnity form, which you will need to sign and return to Tarifa Beach Houses.
Telephone numbers for the emergency services are given to all guests in the information packs.
In the unlikely even of a significant change or cancellation of your booking by the Owner, we will inform you as soon as possible. If requested and if available the owner will try to arrange alternative accommodation at a similar price, standard and location.
In the event that no suitable alternative can be found, the owner shall refund to the client in full the client’s deposit and any such other sums as the client may have paid to Tarifa Beach Houses on the owner’s behalf and neither Tarifa Beach Houses or the owner shall have any further liability whatsoever to the client or his/her party.
Any cancellation by you (for whatever reason) must be in writing (email is acceptable).
The effective date of cancellation is the date we receive written notification.
If you cancel 8 weeks or more prior to your arrival at the property you will lose your deposit.
If you cancel less than 8 weeks before your arrival at the property or the booking is cancelled due to your non-payment, the Owner shall be entitled to the full cost of the holiday from you. Security deposits are fully refundable in the event of cancellation by you.
No refund shall be refunded unless the company is able to re-let the property for the same terms, in which case a full refund shall be repaid to the client.
No pets are allowed unless first agreed with Tarifa Beach Houses.
No smoking is allowed inside a Tarifa Beach House. Please do not throw cigarette ends, it is a massive fire hazard.
Website Content and Photos
The majority of the Tarifa Beach Houses are people’s homes, the information on the website is intended as a guide only. We cannot accept responsibility for any inaccurate, misleading or incomplete information about any property and its facilities or services. Property owners have the right to change decoration as they choose.
A breach of the Terms and Conditions
In the event of a breach of the above terms and conditions by the client the Owner may in their absolute discretion terminate the agreement forthwith, and the client shall be liable to compensate the owner for any loss or damage incurred.
It is an express condition of booking that all party members must have adequate personal liability, accident, medical and cancellation insurance. The Owner will in no way be liable in the event of any party member’s failure to take out such insurance.
