About the Property

This stunning property in Santuario de la Luz is an example of how sustainable living can be stylish, designer and luxurious. Its Belgian owners have spent the last twelve years transforming the building and the gardens into a private wonderland. They have maximised on the houses reclusive position in the heartland of the Natural Cork Forest, 2,5 km down a country track (after the beautiful Santuario de la Luz church), and created heavenly views from both indoors and outdoors. Massive scale garden landscaping has created an oasis in the garden and the use of natural and local materials has allowed nature to creep indoors. The result is a peaceful and wholesome home.

A mission statement of sustainability mean that the majority of the building’s base elements – tiles, beams and doors – have been recycled from older homes. This combined with the neutral tones and recycled furniture gives the house a rustic charm, totally in keeping with its position in the countryside. Casa Santuario blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors with its massive windows, four terraces, outdoor kitchen – this is the ultimate house for the summer months.

On the drive to the house you will encounter lots of scruffy properties, goats, black pigs, horses, mongrels and a few chickens. But at the end of the track you will reach the locked gate for Casa ‘sanctuary’ – a name that suits it perfectly! Immediately you will see the love, hard work and attention to detail; with its cactus lined driveway, horses paddock and tropical garden.

The accommodation includes two separate sitting rooms, one whose focus is the television, and the other: the views and the fireplace. There are three bedrooms two double bedrooms, the master bedroom being en suite, and one twin bedroom. The second double bedroom also has an office with garden views as seen in the photos. The cosy kitchen and dining room are open-plan and extremely well equipped. The kitchen table will be totally bypassed on your holiday; when the best spot for breakfast and a sundowner is on the expansive roof terrace; at the heat of the day the coolest spots are on the side terraces or covered terrace – that pretty well has all your meals covered!

There is a river that crosses through the middle of the property with banks lined with oleander trees where there is a small shaded terrace, as seen in the photos. Moreover there are plenty of opportunities for walking and at just 10 minutes (not on the property) from the house there is a natural rock pool, ideal for a dip to cool off in the summer and enough to complete your back to nature experience! N.B. The natural pool is exactly that, a natural occurring feature in the countryside nearby.

The house works off solar panels and a generator. The hot water is from gas heating. The generator can be started with a simple switch and only needs to be started for the washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, oven, iron or a hairdryer.
There is a river that crosses through the middle of the property with banks lined with oleander trees where there is a small shaded terrace, as seen in the photos.

2.5km down a country track which is passable in any normal car, sports cars are not recommended.

End Cleaning
End cleaning is included in the cost.  In all cases you are responsible for keeping the property and all its contents in the same state of cleanliness, repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday. The owner reserves the right to make deductions from the security deposit for any extra cleaning, over the number of hours committed to departure cleaning.

Security deposit
There is a 600€ security deposit in the event of any breakages or damage whilst staying at the property, this is refundable on departure if the house is returned in good condition with no damages or breakages.

Check-in & out times
Check-in: from 16.00 to 20.00* on arrival date

*Arrivals after 20:00 must be advised in advance and agreed by Email with Tarifa Beach Houses.

Car
It is essential to rent a car to reach this property, it is located down a 2.5km country track so sports cars are not recommended.
